BuildForce Signs Armed Forces Covenant

Growing the Business

BuildForce, a collaborative industry-led programme with an objective to reduce skills gaps in the construction industry and built environment whilst offering a second career to military personnel, was pleased to sign the Armed Forces Covenant last week.

Caroline Logan, BuildForce’s Project Director signed on behalf of the programme and was joined by founding partners EY, Lendlease, Morgan Sindall and Wilson James.  In attendance were some of their military candidates and further members from the BuildForce Alliance.

BuildForce has connected with over 1000 Service Leavers and Veterans nationwide; inducted 476, placed 145 in jobs, 151 in industry work placements with 540 benefiting from their 1-2-1 mentoring programme. Not only a founding member, Wilson James has benefited from the organisation, as we have multiple team members who have joined our team through BuildForce connections and events.

Caroline commented: “I am delighted to be signing The Armed Forces Covenant on behalf of BuildForce.  I have enjoyed supporting our candidates into an industry which is often over-looked; helping them to realise their great potential and transferrable skills has been the highlight of my career and being instrumental in their next chapter has been a great honour.”
