London Poppy Day 2018
Every year the Poppy Appeal is kicked off in London with an intensive one-day campaign focussed on collecting from daily commuters. Driven by the Royal British Legion, service personnel, veterans and volunteers are deployed to train and tube stations across London based on designated spots for each Regiment, Ship or Station. The campaign has been running for 12 years and has raised between £11,000 and £16,000 every year for the past five years, in a single day of collecting!
Dale Smith from Wilson James Security Division meets up each year with his former comrades from the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers at Bank Station and has done so for the past six years. If you see anyone out collecting, please donate anything you can afford for the great work of the Royal British Legion in supporting our service men and women, past and present, and their families in need.
