Health & Safety
June 11th – 17th is Men’s Health Week. It gives us the opportunity to focus on the importance of the health and wellness of men, and some of the prevalent health concerns they face. We will also be looking at mental health and wellbeing and reminding you of the ways Wilson James can support you.
Men’s Health Week 2018 coincides with Diabetes Week so today we are highlighting how men are affected by the disease. Men are more likely to become diabetic than women, more likely to experience complications like amputation and more likely to die from the condition. One man in 10 now has diabetes and in middle-aged men the disease is expected to increase sharply in frequency over the next 20 years.
While much work has been done in the diagnosis and fight against Diabetes, awareness is the most important thing. The more of us that are aware of it, the more likely we are to make healthy changes to delay or stop the onset. The Men’s Health Forum is an excellent resource for information on this and other health issues affecting men and boys.
We hope you find this week’s content fun, engaging and most especially, informative. If you have any questions or feedback, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us at HealthandSafety@makedevelopment.co.uk.
