Members of the CLC team attended the July LoCITY Roadshow to display the newest acquisition to the CLC fleet: a 100% electric luton van. The LoCITY Roadshow is a programme of free-of-charge events across Greater London to allow operators, suppliers and contractors to experience low emission commercial vehicles.
Says Katie Pryce, HLI Integration Manager who attended, “The event was really good, with presentations from the industry covering driver behaviours, route planning and real-life examples of operators using alternative fuels and low emission technologies. At the [Wilson James] Fleet Forum a few weeks ago we discussed the need for a low emission vehicle at the CLC to ensure WJ keep competitive when tendering for business. There are a few options that are worth considering.”
The CLC contract, winners of the inaugural Heathrow Clean Vehicles Partnership Awards last year, are helping Heathrow Airport lead the way in clean energy. The Heathrow 2.0 strategy places significant commitments towards reducing environmental impact, and Wilson James plays a key role in supporting this strategy. With the completion and delivery of these luton vans, all of our vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes at Heathrow are either electric or hybrid, according to John Spottiswood, HLI Director.
