Charity of the Year

Every year, we select a ‘Charity of the Year’ and a number of fundraising events are organised across the country to support this charity. As a company, we also support a number of other worthwhile organisations.

Our charity of the year for 2019/20 is Crisis.

Wilson James works closely with Crisis to help end homelessness in Great Britain.

This includes a programme of fundraising activity, involvement in their core campaigns and volunteering opportunities. Our hope is that the partnership enables everyone at Wilson James to make a direct and meaningful contribution to the work that Crisis does.

Time to Change

Time to Change is a growing social movement working to change the way we all think and act about mental health problems. The charity has already reached millions of people and begun to improve attitudes and behaviour. Wilson James has been a supporter of the Time to Change campaign since 2017 and are committed to change how we think and act about mental health in the work place.

Duke of Edinburgh (DofE)

Wilson James is a corporate partner to the DofE. We support the Charity towards its aim of 2 million young people in the UK benefitting from their DofE by 2020, regardless of any barriers. This is an ambitious target and the aim is to significantly increase those participating from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Armed Forces Covenant Silver Level

Wilson James is a proud supporter of the Armed Forces Covenant. The covenant focuses on helping members of the armed forces community have the same access to government and commercial services and products as any other citizen, this includes education, having a home or starting a new career.

The Royal Logistic Corps Foundation Membership

The Royal Logistic Corps Foundation has been established under the authority of The Council for the Regimental Affairs of The Royal Logistic Corps with the purpose of promoting professional excellence within the Corps. It provides a focus for professional engagement with external logistics organisations from industry, academia, professional bodies and the professional media.

Living Wage Recognised Service Provider

Wilson James is a Recognised Service Provider proudly working with the Living Wage Foundation to promote the real Living Wage. We believe in paying a decent wage to our staff, who carry out vital work for many organisations, and therefore always provide a Living Wage costed bid to all our clients. This gives them the chance to decide if the Living Wage is right for their organisation. We also pay the Living Wage to all staff in our head office and core functions.

The real Living Wage is an independently calculated, voluntary rate of pay that is based on the cost of living. It is higher than the government’s minimum and thousands of companies choose to pay these rates to their staff. The UK rate is currently £9.00, with a higher rate of £10.55 in London, reflecting the higher cost of living in the capital.
