Josh Start, Head of the Colnbrook Logistics Centre at Heathrow Airport, has been named Professional of the Year at the European Logistics Association Awards, held on 1 June 2017 in Brussels. Josh is the first ever UK entrant to win this award which recognises individuals who have made important contributions to the development of the logistics business environment, or can be considered thought leaders among logistics professionals in their countries.
Josh joined Wilson James after a career in the Royal Logistic Corps of the British Army. He now heads the CLC which forms a core component of airside logistics at Heathrow. This latest achievement follows his win of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport’s Young Manager of the Year award.
Says Sean Kelly, MBE FCILT and Director Strategic Logistics Solutions at Wilson James Ltd., “Josh is an outstanding manager. He has won company and UK awards over the last 12 months. Now he has been recognised as the European Professional of the Year—the first UK entrant ever to do so. It is great news for the UK, great news for Wilson James Ltd, and our client Heathrow, but most of all, it is fantastic news for Josh.”
Says Peter Jacobs, Managing Director Construction Logistics at Wilson James Ltd, and Past President of the Chartered Institute of Building, “Everyone in Wilson James is extremely proud of Josh’s achievement in winning this prestigious award. What impresses me most is that Josh has been recognised for his work outside the mainstream of supply chain and in the complex realm of security constrained construction logistics. He is the consummate professional, a shining example to his staff and a thoroughly nice individual.”
